The Art Girls Go on an Adventure

As I'm all about SUMMER lately, I thought I would do a little post about how to put together a cute and functional summer travel art kit. We all need to stay inspired no matter where we are, and the best way to do that is to make sure we have the tools we need to document our creative ideas, even on the road!

There are lots of inexpensive items that you can include in your travel art kit that will stimulate your creativity, while at the same time, won't be devastating if you accidentally leave them behind at your grandma's house or in a hotel on vacation.

1. Fuji Instax Camera: good for cute and quick documentation of things you see
2. Moleskine: probably the most important item. For you to draw in, paint in, write in about your travels and summer whimsies.
3. Sharpie Pen: a good sturdy pigemented pen that won't smear in the car or bleed through.
4. Scissors: you can cut up brochures from places you go or napkins from restaurants. Who knows!?
5. How to Be an Explorer of the World: A FANTASTIC book by Keri Smith that changed my life. All about exploring the everyday!
6. RVA sticker sets: cute for sticking everywhere in your sketchbook.
7. Crayola Watercolor Paint set: portable and cheap. Perfect for some artistic fun that's not drawing.
8. Colored Pencils: need I say more?
9. Some pretty colored tape: great mess-free adhesive for the car
10. Glue Stick: anything you can cut up, you can glue down! <3
11. yarn and crochet hook: granny square it up!

You can tailor this to suit you of course, but these are some great items to take with you to keep the creative juices flowing, even on the go. You could even pack a few of these things in a little makeup bag if you have an internship this summer. On your lunch break, you can spend your time sketching and eating a healthy lunch instead of going out or texting.

Summer is one of the most inspiring times! Embrace it!

Where do you get your tape from? I've found mine on Etsy, just wondering if you had any recommendations.
