The Scarf Project

Since we've moved into this new apartment, I've found myself swimming in unused clothes, shoes, purses, scarves, jewelry, hats, etc. I've been trying to make moves to clear out some of this useless stuff and donate it so that someone else can get some use out of it.

My first organized attempt at clearing things out and USING the things I have is what I've been calling The Scarf Project. At the beginning of autumn I set a goal to wear every single one of the scarves I own at least once before the end of autumn. I sifted through all the scarves I own, made a descriptive list of each one, and posted it on the inside of my closet door.
As I have worn each one, I've checked it off the list and posted a photo to Instagram. Here's a few of my faves:

It's been a fun little project to document, not to mention a project in self-awareness! You wouldn't believe the things we keep around in our homes and never touch! The pieces I found myself avoiding, I simply put in the donate pile! Feels good!

I guess I'm blogging about this to encourage everyone to go through their closets and rid them of things you no longer use. There are people this holiday that could use them! (Plus it's kind of fun to give yourself a wardrobe challenge!) Maybe we should come up with a hash tag for Instagram? ideas, ideas... Let me know if you decide to do something like this!

Hey! Don't forget to stop by on Wednesday for the big Blog Party Extravaganza! Click here for details!

Hey now, this is great!! I used to wear scarves all the time but since we've moved as well....they are all over! These challenges are great to make you use what you buy! I did a tights challenge two February's ago because I never wore my tights!

Good job using what you've got :) :)
